Rowhedge Heritage Trust (RHT) was established as a registered charity in 2004. It exists to bring people together to celebrate the rich social and maritime heritage of the riverside community of Rowhedge.
The Trust was formed by an enthusiastic group of people keen to keep the village’s heritage alive after losing its last shipyard. This event marked the end of Rowhedge’s centuries-long dependency on the River Colne for fishing, shipbuilding and providing captains and crew for the great yachts of the 19th and 20th century.
