Upstreet, Downstreet is a locally-produced book, published by the RHT. It follows on from Saltwater Village by Margaret Leather. This 120-page, full-colour book is illustrated throughout and contains the fascinating stories of the people of Rowhedge during the twentieth century, told through the voices of those who lived it.
Seventy-five people with Rowhedge connections were interviewed between 2006 & 2011, as part of a project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The book was originally published in 2011 and has recently been revised and reprinted to coincide with this year’s Rowhedge Heritage Trust 20th Anniversary Exhibition at the Village Hall on 23rd & 24th March 2024.
Copies of the book can be purchased for £15 at the exhibition.
