Highland Fling, 2019

As November 2019 drew to a close, 100 people enjoyed a St Andrew's Day evening of haggis, whisky and dancing at the village hall.  The event  raised over £1,500 for the Trust.

With grateful thanks to Fliss Monckton, a full gallery of excellent photos from the event can be found here.

Harris Rally, 2019

In October four historic smacks, one bawley and one Thames sailing barge sailed up to Rowhedge, to join us for lunch on the quayside.

Three of the smacks, Pioneer (CK18), Ellen (CK222) and Maria (CK21) were built here in Rowhedge around the beginning of the last century by the famous Peter Harris and are the only examples still sailing. The sailing barge Dawn was built at about the same time by Howard of Maldon. Visitors were invited aboard the historic vessels to look around and learn about them.
