The Rowhedge Heritage Trust (RHT) was formed as a registered charity in 2004.  It exists to bring people together to celebrate the rich social and maritime heritage of the riverside community of Rowhedge.

The Trust was formed by an enthusiastic group of people, keen to keep the heritage of the village alive after the loss of its last shipyard. This event marked the end of Rowhedge's centuries-long dependency on the River Colne for fishing, shipbuilding and providing captains and crew for the great yachts of the 19th and 20th century.
